What to do in Catania?
Discover the beauties of the historical centre such as Piazza del Duomo, where the wonderful cathedral stands, and the seat of the City Hall. As well as the famous Fountain of the Elephant, called 'U Liotru' and considered the emblem of Catania.
You can walk along Via Etnea, a historic axis that cuts through the city along an imaginary line: from the sea to 'Iddu', the term by which the Catanese call the imposing volcano of Etna. The excitement continues in the streets of Catania's rich Baroque, all the way to the characteristic fish market 'A piscarìa'. A place mentioned by the French newspaper 'Le Figarò' as one of the most beautiful in Europe.
The area around the holiday home has many places, restaurants, pizzerias and pubs, where you can eat excellent quality fish, as well as typical Sicilian and popular dishes, some of which are km 0. Near Via Umberto and Villa Bellini, the streets are full of delicious clubs, cocktail bars and pizzerias.
Catania is also a holiday destination for its nightlife, one of the liveliest in many Italian regions. A perfect place for unforgettable evenings...
It is visited by young and old, who love the daytime life full of sea and sun. You can set off to discover the most beautiful beaches in and around Taormina, starting with Isola Bella, as well as a few free beaches that offer tranquillity even in the height of the tourist season.
Unforgettable is the panorama of Aci Trezza, characterised by the Faraglioni del Ciclopi. These eight basaltic rocks, according to legend, were thrown by Polyphemus at Ulysses to hinder his escape.
There is certainly no boredom in Catania between beauty, sea and history!
